Inspiritus Featured in Nashville PBS / wnpt.org Special

Dear Friend,

Across the country, older adults are being priced out of the places they’ve called home. Rents continue to rise, affordable housing options are shrinking, and for people living on fixed incomes, the margin for error is disappearing.

We’re honored to share this Nashville PBS/wnpt.org segment below, which takes a closer look at what this reality means for older adults and the community-based efforts working to respond before housing insecurity becomes displacement. Earlier this year, a Nashville PBS film crew spent time capturing this growing crisis and the collaborative work underway to address it. Inspiritus is included in the segment, highlighting our affordable housing efforts and the role stable housing, alongside access to essential supports like food assistance, plays in long-term well-being.

The film brings viewers face-to-face with older adults navigating impossible housing choices, as well as the nonprofit, faith-based, and community leaders working within systems that are no longer keeping pace with the need. It raises an important question. How did we get here, and why aren’t the solutions we rely on enough?
