Protect Children and Families — Tell Congress to Vote NO
/Protect Children. Protect Families. Tell Congress to Vote NO on Harmful Reconciliation Measures.
Dear Friend,
Right now, Congress is advancing proposals that could dramatically expand detention, family separation, and immigration enforcement practices that place vulnerable children and families at greater risk.
Some provisions could weaken long standing protections for children in U.S. custody and allow for the use of invasive and unreliable vetting tools on children as young as 12 years old.
At Inspiritus, we believe children are children first. Every child deserves safety, dignity, compassion, and trauma informed care, regardless of where they come from or the circumstances they face.
We believe in policies that keep families together, reunite children with loved ones quickly, and protect the well being of refugee and immigrant children.
While some concerning language has been removed from earlier drafts, harmful amendments could still return as this legislation moves forward. The risk is not over.
Now is the time to raise our voices.
Contact your Members of Congress today and urge them to vote NO on harmful amendments and reconciliation measures that threaten protections for children and families.
Thank you for standing with refugee and immigrant children and helping ensure every child is treated with dignity, compassion, and care.
With gratitude,
Aimee Zangandou
