Pray for those in the path of Hurricane Isaias
/Dear Friend,
Hurricane Isaias is expected to make landfall this weekend on the Gulf Coast. It is currently a Category 3 hurricane with wind speeds reaching up to 110 mph. The National Hurricane Center has issued a hurricane watch from Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, to Indian Pass in Florida’s Panhandle. Dangerous storm surge could affect a broader area, from southeast Louisiana to Florida’s Big Bend. Forecasters expect 3 to 7 inches of rain near the coast, creating a risk of flash flooding, with 1 to 3 inches possible as far inland as Tennessee and the western Carolinas.
Inspiritus’ disaster teams are on standby and preparing to respond where needed. Inspiritus staff have been in touch with local officials and partnering organizations in the region to coordinate our efforts as quickly and efficiently as possible. In the coming days, we will share more information about the storm’s impact and how Inspiritus is helping.
Please join us in prayer for the residents and responders that are currently in the path of this storm. May the winds and waves find calm and those who are on its path, reach safety and refuge from harm.
Sincerely,
Virginia Spencer
Chief Development Officer
Inspiritus
