Instead, the storm unleashed severe flooding and wind damage that destroyed their septic system, tore down the fence that kept her children safe, and ripped siding from their home.

A month later, her husband passed away unexpectedly — leaving her grieving, raising three children alone, and unable to afford the repairs. With no insurance and a denied FEMA claim, she had nowhere to turn.
