PARENTING PROGRAMS KEEP CHILDREN & FAMILIES TOGETHER DURING THE PANDEMIC.
Our A+ Parent program has graduated 11 families since the start of 2021, which means we’ve impacted close to 50 children and their parents!
The A+ Parents Program focuses on strengthening families by providing a continuum of services from parenting education to more intensive services for families at risk of intervention by the Georgia Department of Family & Children Services (DFCS).
Inspiritus Children & Family Services staff have adapted both the SafeCare and Nurturing Parenting curriculums for virtual delivery and were able to provide vital parenting education despite the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been vital to helping reduce and prevent child abuse and neglect, while strengthening families to prevent the need of foster care intervention.
As a result, an additional 15-20 parents are on track to graduate the A+ Parents Program this year - which will translate to a total impact of over 100 children and parents in 2021!
We are especially proud of the Wilson family, who graduated from the SafeCare program earlier this year. The Wilsons were dedicated to attending sessions twice a week throughout their training. Mr. Wilson and his wife took notes during their sessions and implemented them during their parental visitations. They are the proud parents of a 1-year-old daughter and look forward to using what they have learned in SafeCare for the betterment of their family.
