HOW OUR FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER HELPED ABDOLRAZEQ

Abdolrazeq is a husband, and a father to five children. He and his family live in Clarkston, Georgia. They came to the U.S. as refugees a little more than a year ago. Abdolrazeq studies English, and works full-time to support his family.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Abdolrazeq struggled to navigate his finances online. He had completed multiple online applications for a credit card through his bank, but was denied each time because he lacked a substantial credit history. This is a common story for many new Americans.

Through Inspiritus' Financial Opportunity Center, Abdolrazeq's coach was able to assist him in completing an online credit card pre-qualification through Capital One. Once he was pre-qualified, Abdolrazeq worked with his coach and applied for a credit card - he was instantly approved!

Abdolrazeq's coach assisted him in downloading the credit card app onto his phone and showed him how to monitor his card activity regularly online. Abdolrazeq was thrilled to finally get a credit card and start building his credit for the first time!

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionately negative impact on refugees and immigrants. The Inspiritus Financial Opportunity Center has helped hundreds this year to regain employment, stay financially stable, and continue on their journey toward thriving in America.
