INSPIRITUS NURSING & CLINICAL SERVICES ARE REDUCING THE CHALLENGES OF INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES
Over 30 percent of individuals within our Disability Services program are now directly case managed by a Registered Nurse. More than 75 percent are receiving in-home primary health practitioner visits as a result of our partnership with Resurgia, an innovative house call medical practice based in Atlanta, focused on providing medical care when and where patients need it most.
This has greatly reduced the need of going into a physician’s office, a challenge many of our individuals face. One Disability Services individual in particular, had been experiencing repetitive behavior for some time. When our clinical staff reviewed this individual’s condition and behavior within their home, we were able to recognize that he was actually experiencing a very specific type of seizure activity. We made the recommendation to send him to a neurologist that specializes in that type of seizure. As a result, he’s now scheduled to undergo a procedure that can possibly reduce the number of seizures he experiences.
Our team has identified that more than 1,000 individuals served by Inspiritus are in need of our Nursing & Clinical Services. In 2020, we have increased our team to include four nurses and one behavioral analyst; however, we need more in order to serve all of our clients who are in need. In particular we are raising funds to help us procure nursing staff to support refugees and families at risk of foster care intervention related to overwhelming medical challenges. We need your help.
